How do I get started?

The best way would be to arrange a time to have a chat with one of our instructors, and go for an Introductory Flight. Please send enquiries by email min@minovation.com and we can schedule an appointment. Please note we are unable to take telephone calls or deal with walk-up enquiries during lessons, so please contact by email so that you can be sure an instructor can spend time answering your questions.

FAQ

How much does it cost to get a Private Pilot Licence?
The cost of gaining the PPL varies depending on each student and how much time and preparation they can devote to the training. On average, a PPL will cost around $29,000 and a CPL around $85,000
Payments are made at the end of each lesson.
Do I need a medical to fly?

You will need to complete a medical examination with a CASA approved Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME), but you can still fly as a student without one, up until you go for your first solo.

What Paperwork do i need to fill in?

You are required to fill in application forms for your Aviation Reference Number (ARN). You will not need to have these forms completed initially, but you will need to have them completed and approved before your first solo.

What does it take to get a Pilot's License?

Hard work, determination, and a good mental attitude. Study hard, prepare for each lesson, and be ready to watch, listen and learn.

What are your hours of operation?

Instructors are available by appointment only. Flying training is available seven days a week.

Do you require payment up front?

No, we do not require you to pay for your course of flying, or any particular lesson up front. We may require a credit card pre-authorisation to secure your first booking.

Why do you ask for a pre-authorisation to hold an aircraft, or book a lesson?

When we take a booking, we are setting aside an aircraft, an instructor, and our time. If someone books a slot with us and doesn't show up or gives less than 24 hour notice of a cancellation then those resources can't be used elsewhere and it is usually too late to bring in another student on "standby".

Do you have a minimum amount of hours we have to fly per day for a private hire?

Unlike other local operators we don't isnsist on a minimum amount of hours flown per day on a hire. We work on a first come, first served basis for hire bookings.
